Member FAQ's
Q: Where can I find out information about my plan benefits?
A: You can contact a Nevada Dental Benefits Care Coordinator at (702) 478-2014, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (PST). One of our Care Coordinators will be able to confirm your eligibility, answer questions regarding the services that are covered and how often and estimate your out of pocket expense for specific dental procedures, such as exams, cleanings, fillings, root canals, etc.
Q: How can I find out if my dentist is a participating provider with my dental plan?
A: Please use the “Find a Dentist” tool located on this web page. If you are unsure if you have a Managed Care or PPO plan, please contact a Nevada Dental Benefits Care Coordinator for assistance at (702) 478-2014, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (PST).
Q: Am I able to see a specialist under my plan?
A: If you are eligible with one of Nevada Dental Benefits’ managed care plans and you are receiving care from an in-network/participating general dentist, then your dentist will submit a Request for Specialty Referral to Nevada Dental Benefits. If the request is approved by Nevada Dental Benefits, you will receive a notice in the mail with the name and contact information of the specialist to whom you have been referred. In order to receive in-network benefits at a specialty office, you must receive a referral from an in-network general dentist to an in-network specialist and that referral must be approved by Nevada Dental Benefits. If your plan has an out-of-network benefit and you are receiving care from an out-of-network general dentist, then any services you receive at a specialist will be paid under your out-of-network benefit. For further questions, please contact a Nevada Dental Benefits Care Coordinator at (702) 478-2014.
Q: What are the benefits of seeing a Nevada Dental Benefits’ Participating (In-Network) Provider?
A: When you receive dental care from a Nevada Dental Benefits’ Participating or In-Network Provider, then your out of pocket expense will most likely be much lower than if you receive care from an Out-of-Network Dentist. In-Network providers must also meet credentialing standards in order to participate in our network. In-Network providers will also submit all dental claim forms for you, directly to Nevada Dental Benefits, so you do not have to worry about paperwork or forms to submit in order to access your dental benefits.
